New Versions of Animation Editors – July Release

We are excited to announce our mid-summer release, which introduces a new tool: the Caustic Brush. This tool is designed to enhance water animations by adding vivid light effects. Additional changes include updates to the typewriter text animation and the erase brush, along with several minor bug fixes.

Here’s the full list of recent changes in this update:

  • Caustic Brush has been added.
  • Slide Animation has been added to the Show/Hide effects list for Typewriter Text.
  • Timings Support has been added for the Erase Brush.
  • A bug with non-Latin characters has been fixed in the text tools.
  • A bug with the Sum blend mode has been fixed for the Light Brush.
  • A bug with the Apply to Previous Layer mode has been fixed for the Lighting Brush.

  1. I turn on spin for 2 layers of images, they start rotating but their position relative to each other changes, restarting the animation does not help. And it saves incorrectly as well. You can restore the correct positions only by restarting the project.

  2. I have been searching for a custom 3D leaf fall effect for quite a long time, and today I came up with an interesting idea, though I’m not sure if it would be feasible for you to implement.

I’m not very familiar with the constructor, but maybe this could work: Instead of allowing users to upload 3D models, you could enable them to upload a custom SVG shape (solid, hollow, or partially hollow—such as a leaf, smiley, sacred symbol, etc.) and a single pattern (JPG or PNG) with adjustable scaling. I’m not sure if the constructor supports 3D rotation, but if it does, you could assign 3D rotation to the SVG shape while the pattern simply follows along. Of course, random fall speed would also be important.

Additionally, I have another suggestion: would it be possible to add a new section or feature for adding a solid color or gradient (linear/radial) background layer or regular layer with an eyedropper tool? For example, in Canva, I often cut out the sky to insert moving clouds in DP Animation Maker, but then I need to add a solid color or gradient background behind my image to blend it nicely.

    • Thank you for your suggestions. The constructor is designed to work with 2D sprites. 3D animations, like leaf fall, require additional features such as shadows and other elements that are not part of the constructor right now. We plan to implement 3D animations later.

SVG is not a common way to define shapes; usually, transparency maps are used for this. Additionally, 2D planes won’t work well for leaves, as they are typically curved.

For solid color, you can use the Light Brush with the following parameters: Type = Constant, Strength = 100, Blending Mode = Normal. We will also consider adding a gradient brush.
