New Versions of Animation Editors – June Release

We’re pleased to announce that this month’s update includes a new path feature for the group layer. This enhancement allows you to incorporate complex moving objects into your projects. For a demonstration, you can view the video below.

In the upcoming updates, we will be focusing on enhancing our line tools and addressing any existing bugs. Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for more improvements.

Project file used in the video can be downloaded here.

Here is the full list of recent changes in this update:

  • A new path option has been added for Group layers.
  • A new “Disable Relative Positioning” option has been added for all motions in the Animation Constructor.
  • A new Source Wrap Flow motion has been added to the Animation Constructor.
  • The license dialog now displays information about the update period.

  1. Could you consider adding a smoke and steam animated brush in a future update? This feature would be incredibly useful for simulating steam from a hot beverage? And could you maybe create different styles of rain?

Additionally, could you implement a feature to export videos with a transparent background in QuickTime format?

Lastly, could you incorporate the capability for users to create their own animated brushes in a future update?

The standard library offers 6 variations of smoke animation, and you can also create your own with the Animation constructor. Do they not work for you?

      >And could you maybe create different styles of rain?
Have you tried a combination of Rain, Raindrops on glass, and the background copy brush? It can help you create similar animations.

      >Additionally, could you implement a feature to export videos with a transparent background in QuickTime format?
Our export feature supports exporting in QuickTime PNG format.

      >Lastly, could you incorporate the capability for users to create their own animated brushes in a future update?
Customization of animated brushes requires pixel shader programming skills. Our goal is to keep our product as simple as possible.

  2. Delete path does not work in a group, it works like the create point button.
If you move a group by pressing the down arrow, and there are no other layers under the group, the program gives an error and closes.
Could you please create a video tutorial where you would tell us how to work with an animation curve?

  3. Our export feature supports exporting in QuickTime PNG format.

However, I was referring to the ability to export videos with a transparent background, not just PNG sequences.

    • the export in mov format has the codec option. it can be set to PNG. let me know if it helps.

  4. When will we be able to support layer overlay mode similar to the layer overlay mode in Photoshop?

    • Overlay Mode is supported by the Light Brush and a few others. You can also use Add Overlay Mode in Particle Effects. If these features aren’t enough, can you please give an example of animations that you can’t implement without Overaly?

    • Drops falling from the ledge can be easily created in the Animations Constructor. The second animation can also be repeated with a pair of Drift brushes. We plan to add an improved parallax effect and improve export for looping animations, but this will take some time.
